Split is the largest city on the Croatian Coast of the Adriatic, and after Zagreb it is the second largest in Croatia. It is an important economic, traffic, cultural, religious, research, educational, sports and tourist centre. It is the administrative seat of the Split-Dalmatia County. The wider region of Split includes the cities of Sopin and Kaštela, While continuous urban area stretches from the town of Trogir in the west to the town of Omiš in the east.
