NGO Association RODA is organizing a free children's car seat inspection by RODA's advisors for car seats. Review will be held in Split, Sunday, 13th of May from 5PM - 7PM in the parking lot at Poljud stadium (western stadium entrance)...
Besides the seat exam, advisors will answer questions and share tips and information to parents and other drivers about the importance and proper use of car seats. All pregnant women and their partners are invited if they need advice in choosing their first chilren's car seat.
This review is primarily intended to help parents check whether the seat is properly set in the vehicle and do they properly place their child in the seat. Children's car seats reduce death risk of a child in a car crash by up to 70% and the risk of serious injury for more than 90%, but only if properly used.
In Croatia, the number of correctly used children's car seats is between 10% and 20%, a figure that RODA's volunteers tend to increase with events like this one.
In order to make the advices on the proper use of safety of seats more effective, RODA's volunteers ask that if possible, you bring the seat's manufacturer instructions and be sure to bring your child.
According to the Law on Traffic Road Safety, which is valid since 17th of June 2008., children younger than five years must be restrained in child safety seat and children under the age of twelve years must restrained with a car seat's safety belt with a help of specialized stand. Unfortunately, statistics show that the vast majority of car seats is used incorrectly and therefore do not provide optimum child safety.

Free car seat inspections is made possible by NGO RODA and its volunteers.
